    The State of New Hampshire, Department of Education, Division of Education Analytics & Resources & Bureau of School Finance has a full-time vacancy for a School Financial Reporting Administrator.

    18 Months of additional relevant experience = Associate's degree

    36 Months of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's degree

    Scope of Work: To develop, monitor, and review the implementation of a uniform fund accounting and financial reporting system in accordance with governmental reporting practices for New Hampshire’s School funding structure of statewide educational system as required by the State Finance Longitudinal Data Systems Grant and administer the federal Financial State Longitudinal Data Systems Grant.

    Accountabilities:

    Plans the structuring and updating of the New Hampshire Financial Accounting Handbook for Local Education Agencies general ledger accounting system in compliance with recognized accounting practices including state and federal requirements.

    Reviews financial statements and reports summarizing the reconciliation of fund and accounting balances with state treasurer records.

    Prepares specialized financial reports and analyses as required or requested by superiors, Governor and Legislative committees, state, local and federal government reporting requirements and standards.

    Prepares and updates New Hampshire Financial Accounting Handbook for Local Education Agencies manual for all K-12 educational intuitions in New Hampshire.

    Reviews education accounting requirements for federal reporting and develops accounting systems for implementation.

    Monitors the publication of annual and interim financial reports for the state as required by governmental reporting practices.

    Administers the federal State Longitudinal Data Systems grant including coordination of the design, selection, evaluation, implementation and maintenance of a financial data collection and reporting system(s) used to collect school financial data from all local education agencies and assist with coordinating multi-platform database solutions to facilitate current and long-term application solutions for the Department of Education.

    Oversee grant reporting including contracting, state, and federal reporting, budgets, and all other requirements.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    FOR NON-CPA’S:

    Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major study in accounting, business administration, economics, policy, or a related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

    Experience: Six years' experience in financial accounting in either a private company or a government agency, including, but not limited to, responsibility for compiling financial statements with related note disclosures and maintaining general ledgers, including preparing entries and reconciliations, preparing audit schedules, grant accounting and or management or related field.

    FOR CPA’S:

    Education: Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) current certificate with Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or a related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

    Experience: Four years' experience in financial accounting in either a private company or a government agency, including, but not limited to, responsibility for compiling financial statements with related note disclosures and maintaining general ledgers, including preparing entries and reconciliations, preparing audit schedules, and exposure to auditing.

    License/Certification: None required.
