Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Control Center Technicians in our Missoula, MT location.The ideal candidate will be embrace using technology to solve problems, be able to focus for extended periods of time and have the ability to multi-task and think on their feet.

    Position Overview:

    Working in the control center means monitoring over 100 jobs by leveraging the STS patented Real-Time Traffic Management System and the STS Technology Enabled Smart Signal (TESS) Controller. This system provides data to our control center to monitor the status of each job with video as well as provide important metrics and alerts to identify if a job needs a little extra assistance. A great control center technician will be comfortable utilizing technology, great at multi-tasking and a skilled communicator. Additionally, they will have the ability to understand traffic flow and how best to use our signals to ensure traffic moves efficiently and safely.

    As you gain more experience, your ability to troubleshoot issues will continue to grow, but you will always have the back-end support of our worldclass software development and technical team to ensure that STS maintains the high level of support our customers have grown accustomed to receiving.

    Daily responsibilities will include monitoring system alerts, keeping track of voltage levels on equipment, troubleshooting connectivity issues at the job site (remotely), responding to calls from job sites across the nation and assisting with the set-up and configuration of new jobs.

    Job Description:

    The shift for this position is from 5pm-2am.

    The Control Center Technician will assist in the monitoring and controlling of field equipment. These duties will include:

    • Handling multiple calls and communicating with the general public and with contractors and workers on site
    • Operating and monitoring portable traffic signals
    • Maintaining traffic schedules and job setup
    • Looking for any errors in the program and fixing issues
    • Communicating with co-workers about problems that arise
    • Monitoring trailer voltages, cell connectivity, and Wi-Fi strength
    • Logging all calls with a description of the action taken

    Qualified candidates must:

    • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Be capable of working 40 hours per week
    • Preferred background in traffic control or flagging, but not required
    • Obtain a Flagging Certification within 6 months of hire date (SSR to pay)
    • Obtain ATSSA Certification within 6 months of hire date (SSR to pay)
