Top Social Services Executive directs, establishes, and plans the overall policies and goals for the delivery of social services to patents and families. Establishes accessible systems that respond to patient needs for social services including counseling, financial, bereavement, and specialized support during and after hospitalization. Being a Top Social Services Executive monitors usage and outcomes to continuously improve the service offerings and to offer additional services based on patient needs. Establishes relationships with outside agencies and charitable organizations to leverage additional sources of support for patients. RESPONSIBILITIES: Kinship Social Workers assist the family members of children in South Dakota DSS/CPS custody through the kinship home study process. The Kinship Social Worker uses the Protective Factors Capacity Assessment Model to assess and evaluate potential kinship placements for youth. In this position, you will partner with families to complete the home study process, write the home study assessment, and provide resources and support to families throughout the process. You will be a valuable member of the LSS Kinship Team and work collaboratively with South Dakota DSS/CPS. Some travel is required.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree in social work or in a related field preferred; and one to two years related experience. Licensed as a Social Worker or Social Work Associate (or the ability to be licensed) through the South Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must successfully complete all agency background checks. Requires valid driver’s license and ability to obtain approved driver status.
