Distribution Quality & Logistics Analyst

  • Major purpose:
    The Distribution Quality & Logistics Analyst is responsible for thermal packaging system quality and distribution protocols to ensure proper medication conditions during transit.  Leads and conducts thermal packaging system assessment, qualification, implementation, optimization, and testing.  Evaluates thermal packaging options and distribution protocols with consideration to effectiveness, cost, sustainability, geographic temperature profiles, and Ardon’s operations.  Implements thermal packaging systems and distribution protocols under clinical and operational oversight.

    Position specifications:
     
    1. Education and experience
    1. Required:
        1. One or more years’ experience gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data
    2. Preferred:
        1. Knowledge of thermal packaging systems and distribution logistics
        2. One or more years’ pharmacy or other relevant industry experience
        3. Experience in quality assurance and continuous improvement
        4. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, life sciences, or equivalent

      2. Must be able to complete work by assigned deadlines.
      3. Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
      4. Must be able to express oneself, detect, perceive, observe, and assess information exchanged in a variety of communication methods.
      5. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with computer applications.
      6. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
    2. Working conditions
      1. Work is performed in an office environment, with extensive keyboard and telephone work in stationary position.
      2. Additional work is performed in a pharmacy environment, with extensive keyboard and computer work.  Work also involves moving of packaging, boxes, and items from different areas within the warehouse.  Packaging supplies weighing 40 pounds are moved from the freezer to workstations.
      3. Business needs may occasionally require work in excess of 40 hours per week, including work outside of standard work week.

      1. Internally with Ardon employees across multiple departments.
      2. Externally with vendors

    Essential functions and activities:
    1. Leads and conducts thermal packaging system qualification and ongoing testing for quality assurance.
    2. Analyzes data to ensure compliance with medication storage standards throughout the distribution process. 
    3. Leads root cause analysis and proposes solutions.
    4. Evaluates thermal packaging options and distribution protocols with consideration to effectiveness, cost, sustainability, geographic temperature profiles, patient satisfaction, and Ardon’s operations.
    5. Implements thermal packaging systems and distribution protocols under clinical and operational oversight.
    6. Explores and evaluates alternate thermal packaging system materials, supply vendors and distribution services.
    7. Presents metrics and analysis periodically and as needed or requested.
    8. Monitors geographic temperature profiles and guides distribution logistics protocols.
    9. Creates, maintains, and owns thermal packaging system and distribution protocols.  Follows change control processes.
    10. Explores available technologies and optimizes use to support operational execution of distribution protocols, in collaboration with operational leadership.
    11. Communicates externally with vendors to obtain product and service information.
    12. Adapts to shifting priorities and modifies processes to ensure regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and policies and procedures continue to be met.
    13. Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in thermal packaging systems, distribution, and validation.  Interprets relevant accreditation standards and participates in accreditation processes.
    14. Creates and coordinates communication and staff education with clinical and leadership oversight.
    15. Conducts periodic quality audits of packages.
    16. Ensures adequate supply of essential thermal packaging materials and proposes timely solutions to address supply chain disruptions.
    17. Optimizes thermal packaging material storage and organization.  Explores alternate storage strategies as necessary.
    18. Assists with pharmacy production and warehouse area projects as requested.
    19. Supports quality department projects, initiatives, and audits as requested.
    20. Actively participates and provides support as needed to leadership and quality program staff to ensure activities related to the company’s quality management program and quality improvement activities maintain priority focus and are effectively executed. This may include but is not limited to activities that promote objective and systematic measurement, monitoring, and evaluation of services and defined Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) that may result from such efforts.
    21. Complies with the company’s Human Resources policies, Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and all department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company, employee, and customer information; attending work punctually and regularly; and adhering to good safety practices in all activities.
    22. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
