Traffic Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     We are looking to hire Oregon/Washington State Certified dedicated, observant Flagger to monitor, control and direct the flow of traffic around road construction sites using sign, hand and flag signals. The

    Flagger’s responsibilities include informing motorists of possible detour routes, understand, and apply safe traffic control practices, and when necessary, be able to direct emergency vehicles safely through construction zones as required.

    To be a successful Flagger, you should have excellent communication skills and to be able to work effectively as part of a team as safety is our highest priority. A great Flagger should demonstrate excellent knowledge of State traffic regulations as well as have exceptional observation skills.

    FLAGGER RESPONSIBILIES:

    • Using hand signals, paddle, and directional signs to direct traffic around road construction sites
    • Communicate with other Flaggers using hand-held radios to safely direct traffic through a work zone
    • Inform the construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety
    • Appropriately position warning and detour signs around construction sites
    • Setting up advanced warning signs, barricades, and traffic cones along work site to cordon off work zones
    • Assist in removing all signs, barricades, and traffic cones upon completion of construction work
    • Assisting the crew in the removal of debris and hazardous materials
    • Attend regularly scheduled safety team meeting prior to work

    FLAGGER REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Have or willing to obtain a Oregon/Washington State Traffic Control Certification - we can train/certify in house
    • Have a valid driver’s license
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
    • Effective communication skills
    • Ability to work as part of a team
    • Able to work in harsh weather conditions

    PAY RATE: $18.00 & up DOE

    Schedule: Monday – Friday 7 AM – 6 PM (Must be available for overtime if necessary)

    Hours are not guaranteed and may vary
