Incorporates new training methods that may enhance programs and are relevant to company employees. Additionally, Training Analyst may conduct analysis of instructor performance to drive improvements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Training Analyst contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     The Opportunity:

    As a Business Analyst, you will report to the Business Analyst Manager in the Project Management Office (PMO). The position serves as a liaison between technical team members, business team members, customers, partners, and stakeholders to gather business requirements, ensure quality systems with detailed testing, provide analysis, and support decision-making and project management in the agency.

    This is an in-training opportunity and may be hired as Business Analyst Entry or Business Analyst Journey, depending on qualifications.

    What is an in-training plan? The in-training is intended to provide an opportunity for an individual to gain the required experience on the job as part of a formal “in-training” plan. Upon successful completion of an in-training program, the incumbent will move up to the next job classification that is listed on the training plan if applicable.

    Duties

    Some of what you’ll do:


    • Lead business and technical teams to elicit and document business, system, and functional requirements
    • Develop test cases and test scripts
    • Lead business team members through user acceptance testing
    • Develop, document, and analyze business processes
    • Coordinate system and application changes with DRS team members, external vendors, and record keepers
    • Conduct user training in support of application development and procedural changes
    • Make recommendations for new and/or revised agency policies and Washington Administrative Code (WAC).
    • Respond to system assistance requests from team members, ranging from looking into customer account issues, potential system bug analysis, security access and account data corrections.
    If hired at the Business Analyst Entry level, you will be required to successfully complete the in-training plan to reach the goal class of Business Analyst Journey. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

    Based on qualifications the monthly salary range:
    If hired as a Business Analyst Entry (In-Training):

    Range 03IT Step A $5,719.00 – Step L $7,507.00

    If hired as a Business Analyst Journey:

    Range 05IT Step A $6,608.00 – Step L $8,669.00

    NOTE:
    This is a hybrid position and you may be eligible to telework up to three days a week at the discretion of the Business Systems Analyst Manager and with a telework agreement in place. The ability to work remotely is dependent on the nature of the tasks and projects assigned and the presence of a remote work environment that is safe and has an appropriate level of connectivity. You must live in Western Washington to commute to the DRS building in Tumwater, WA, and must be willing to adjust your telework schedule to attend mandatory meetings, trainings, etc., at the DRS facility.

    Qualifications

    What we’re looking for (required qualifications):

    Qualifications for the Journey level include:

    • Proven experience with estimating level of effort, eliciting, documenting, analyzing, and managing business requirements, developing acceptance criteria, creating design documents, developing test scripts, and coordinating user acceptance testing. This experience is typically gained from a minimum of three (3) years of full-time professional experience;
    • Demonstrated skill and proficiency in the use of Microsoft products (version 2013 or newer), including Word, Excel, Visio, and SharePoint (specifically site management);
    • Proven experience applying the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) techniques;
    • Proficiency in analyzing and resolving complex business and system problems; and
    • Established knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle.

    Qualifications for the Entry in-training level include:
    • Proven experience working with others to analyze, develop, and document business processes for use by others. This experience is typically gained from a minimum of two (2) years of full-time professional experience (a BSA/AML Certification may substitute for up to one (1) year of experience
    • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft products (version 2013 or newer), including Word and Excel to organize and document business needs, workflows and processes;
    • Proven experience analyzing and resolving complex business problems; and
    • Established experience working on a project team.
