  • Job Description   Title: EHR Optimization and Training Manager Reports To: EHR Applications Support Director Department: Health Informatics Job Grade: 10 Employment Status: Exempt Date: March 2024   General Responsibilities: The EHR Optimization and Training Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of electronic health record (EHR) optimization and training initiatives for Thundermist. The manager will collaborate with clinical, operational, revenue cycle management and IT stakeholders to identify and prioritize EHR enhancement opportunities, develop and deliver effective training programs, content and materials, and monitor and measure the impact of EHR optimization on quality, safety, clinical productivity, efficiency, and satisfaction. The manager will also supervise and mentor a team of EHR optimization and training specialists, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.     Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in health informatics, education, or related field Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHR optimization and training, preferably in a large healthcare organization Advanced knowledge of EHR systems, workflows, and best practices, eClinicalWorks knowledge is a plus Certification in EHR or related field preferred but not required (training may be offered as a growth opportunity) 2 years of leadership/management and teaching experience preferred Ability to conduct research into software functionality and recommend configuration ideas. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a changing environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Familiar with a variety of the healthcare field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of competition, industry happenings and knowledge of how the agency is positioning itself is a plus. Highly skilled and proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Frequent access to computer information system and patient information.   Significant Job Functions: Lead the development and execution of a strategic plan for EHR optimization and training across the organization. Develop and maintain EHR optimization and training policies, procedures, and best practices. Create and deliver engaging and effective EHR training programs for various audiences, including new hires, existing staff, and providers. Evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of EHR optimization and training initiatives, and provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement. Manage and support a team of EHR optimization and training specialists, and provide coaching, guidance, and monitors performance and responsibilities of the team members, ensuring optimal workload distribution and successful task and project completion. Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations, such as HIPAA and the Cures Act. Conduct regular assessments of EHR functionality, usability, and performance, and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Work collaboratively with the EHR team and clinical teams in the development of new EHR components to ensure most efficient clinical workflows. Maintain current knowledge of functionalities available within EHR. Coordinate with EHR vendors, IT staff, Health Informatic, clinical and operational leaders to design, test, and implement EHR enhancements and upgrades. Build strong relationships at the facility with core customer base (providers, MAs, front office staff, core team members, etc.) and facility leadership. Keep EHR Director informed of issues and project statuses. Attend industry trainings as needed.
