Translator translates written and spoken information from one language to another. Reads, comprehends, and rewrites materials in designated languages following established linguistic rules related to word meanings, sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation. Being a Translator must be well versed in vocabulary dealing with specialty. Must follow ethical procedures and policies that protect the confidentiality of information. Additionally, Translator may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Translator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. POSITION: Arabic Interpreter/Translator
LOCATION: District Wide
WORK YEAR: 2023-2024 School Year - 180 days

SALARY: $25 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should hold an Associate's degree and be fluent in Arabic.
Completed or currently enrolled in one of the interpreter training courses below or equivalent
SUMMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The educational interpreter/translator has a primarily responsible for facilitating communication among students and parents who speak a language other than English. The educational interpreter provides interpreting and as well as additional support services to students and parents who need assistance with the English language. Applicant will be proficient in written translation.
