Truck Driver - Heavy operates a large or heavy truck that transports cargo to and from specified locations on time and according to schedule. Operates vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all DOT and company safety regulations. Being a Truck Driver - Heavy conducts routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition. Manages appropriate cargo documentation and provides necessary paperwork upon the delivery of goods. Additionally, Truck Driver - Heavy coordinates the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured. Maintains contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. May require a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). Typically reports to a supervisor. The Truck Driver - Heavy works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     The primary responsibilities of this position are to safely and securely load, haul, and unload heavy construction equipment to and from specified destinations. Must have experience pulling a lowboy and oversized equipment. We haul multiple excavators, dozers, loaders, and many other types of construction equipment.


    Basic Qualifications:

    • Valid and current Class A CDL
    • Ability to operate both Automatic and Manual transmission trucks
    • Must have 2 years of verifiable Tractor-trailer driving experience
    • Ability to meet all DOT requirements
    • Ensure safety and compliance of load
    • Maintain DOT driver log (ELD) and other required transport documentation
    • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
    • Pre/Post Inspections
    • Pass DOT physical and DOT Road Test


    Preferred Experience:  

    • Operating trucks requiring a CDL Class A license (e.g., driving forwards, driving backwards, maneuvering in tight spaces, dropping and hooking, operating landing gear and/or air bags, or backing confined spaces, etc.)
    • Hauling construction materials and/or equipment (e.g., transporting unstable loads or hauling different weights on different trip segments, etc.)
    • Operating a tractor-trailer in different conditions (e.g., highway driving, side/local roads, city/country, maneuvering in tight spaces, etc.)
