Evoke is seeking a Unix Engineer to join our team!

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage Unix-based systems, encompassing Linux and other Unix variants.
• Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot Unix servers to ensure peak performance and reliability.
• Address complex Unix system-related issues and implement stringent security measures.
• Lead system upgrades, manage patch deployment, and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to facilitate the deployment of applications and services on Unix platforms.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior Unix engineering team members.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, making recommendations for improvements and innovation.
• Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and best practices.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support, if required.

Professional Experience and Skills:

• Profound knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and network protocols.
• Proven experience in system design, optimization, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills and the capacity to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent are a plus.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for government contracts.

Education and Years of Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Unix system administration and engineering.
• Proven expertise in managing Unix-based systems and infrastructure.
