Job summary
An exciting opportunity to join The Liaison Diversion (L&D) service as a trainee administrator has become available. The successful applicant will be required to work as a key member of our team whilst also working towards a Business Administrator Level 3 qualification, which is equivalent to two A-level qualifications.
L&D sits as a top priority within the government's criminal justice agenda. The service operates by referring offenders who are identified with having mental health, learning disabilities, or other vulnerabilities to an appropriate treatment or support service.
The service is high profile with research being conducted to feed into national policy, service development and best practice.
The post holder will be supported to complete a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship. Applicants must meet the Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) funding criteria and eligibility will be checked as part of the pre-employment the applicant does not have GCSE English & Maths, the applicant will be supported to achieve functional English & Maths prior to the apprenticeship commencing.

Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities for this post include :
Take minutes at Team & Project Meetings and follow up actions including administration of invitations, recording of apologies, distribution of agendas and room booking / preparation and the organisation of external & internal events.
Assist in screening of telephone calls and transferring accurate information to the appropriate clinicians.
To monitor stationery, uniform and PPE stocks and re-order as necessary (using Unit4ERP online procurement system)
To support with changes in shift requirements and absences and updating Roster schedules as required.
Monitor and report on the allocation and usage of Lone Worker Devices
Ensuring high quality administrative and reception support for the service
To be able to set own priorities and act on own initiative under everyday constraints and demands, liaising with senior administrative staff, the service manager or lead clinician when difficult issues arise.
Liaise with estates and IT departments regarding work repairs / faults and escalating issues as required.

The must haves for you to be considered for this role :
Willingness to work towards completion of Level 3 Business Administration
Must meet the ESFA Apprenticeship Funding Criteria
Confident and effective interpersonal and communication skills
The applicant will be supported to work within the department to develop skills, knowledge, and experience in all aspects of administration.
The Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship will be completed with Lifetime Training, who will have formal progress meeting every 6 8 weeks.
The meetings will review and comment upon coursework, and the learners practical implementation of what theyve learned. All learning will take place on the job and will be supported with online review meetings.
There is no requirement to complete a final examination. There may be opportunities for in-person workshops on the course but that is dependent upon cohort sizes in the would be protected time of the equivalent of 1 day per week (20%) dedicated to the completion of the apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship will typically take 18-months to complete (this is in additional to any functional English / Maths requirements).
