Ultrasound Technologist jobs in Kansas

Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.       • Position Summary:
        • The Ultrasound technologist performs diagnostic/therapeutic Ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician. The technologist performs diagnostic medical ultrasound effectively on patient populations served in the clinic setting and exhibits superior levels of customer service. The technologist explains procedures and answers questions for the patient. The technologist demonstrates appropriate patient positioning to obtain optimum views of specified anatomy. The technologist adjusts equipment controls to set proper protocol based on knowledge of the procedure and established guidelines. The technologist assists the clinic physicians, when necessary. The technologist interacts with numerous computer programs and systems on a daily basis.
    • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
      • Minimum Education
        • Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, or Ultrasound Technology program
      • Minimum Experience
        • 1 year experience preferred
      • Required Registration/License/Certification
        • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
        • Kansas License for Radiology Technology (LRT)
        • Basic Life Support certification will be accepted from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider, or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider), or successfully completes within the first 90 days of employment.
