Utilization Review Coordinator conducts utilization reviews to determine if patients are receiving care appropriate to illness or condition. Monitors patient charts and records to evaluate care concurrent with the patients treatment. Being a Utilization Review Coordinator reviews treatment plans and status of approvals from insurers. Collects and complies data as required and according to applicable policies and regulations. Additionally, Utilization Review Coordinator consults with physicians as needed. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. Typically requires Registered Nurse(RN). The Utilization Review Coordinator contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     The PPS Coordinator will ensure compliance with all CMS regulations affecting inpatient rehabilitation", specifically PPS (Prospective Payment System); establish policies, practices and processes to ensure compliance with 60% rule, CMS IRF-PAI quality and technical requirements," as well as all other related documentation requirements.

    Required qualifications:

    • Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Nursing.

    • All Registered Nurses without a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing must obtain a Bachelor’s Degree or higher within 3 years of hire.

    • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy.

    • 1 year recent clinical and inpatient rehabilitation experience.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • 3 years recent clinical and inpatient rehabilitation experience.
