Military Ground Vehicle Validation Engineer:
This position is an entry/mid-level position in support of DCS's Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC) Customers servicing as a Validation Engineer with the responsibility of providing technical support to their CAD Validation Team. In support of the CAD Validation Team, the primary function is to review Technical Data Packages (TDPs) and ensure the CAD Technical Data delivered meets USG contract requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
Review and check CAD technical data in support of re-draw efforts, ECP's, and TDP deliveries
Responsible for following the Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Engineering Record Releases (ERR) process in ePDM Windchill
Follow all GVSC CAD Validation process standards and conduct CAD technical data validation reviews on vehicles, systems, subsystems, components, and spare parts supported by the GVSC CAD Validation Team
Validate, upload, and release CAD technical data packages within the product data management system
Work across organizational boundaries to resolve any issues preventing the release of the supporting information into the system IAW TDM policies and processes
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical Field with 2 years of experience (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
Proficiency in at least one CAD software. (CREO or NX preferred)
Must have strong skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and databases).
Must have good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with standard drawing practices per Mil-Std-31000, ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5.
Interpretation and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
Technical data change/configuration management experience
Ability to understand mechanical & electrical systems within Ground Vehicle Military Applications. Familiar with manufacturing process in order to confirm drawing manufacturability.
Contract language experience in USG contracts
