Vascular Technician performs ultrasound examinations of the cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting circulation. Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results. Being a Vascular Technician may perform therapeutic procedures such as pseudoaneurysm compression. Requires an associate degree in medical sonography or equivalent. Additionally, Vascular Technician may require the Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential. Typically reports to a physician or manager. Vascular Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. 1.Performs noninvasive ultrasound examinations of the cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels using continuous wave Doppler, duplex ultrasound machines, and related equipment to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting circulation.
2.Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results.
3.Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
4.Reviews charts prior to beginning test. Discusses concerns with physician.
5.Educates, listens, and responds to patients needs during test.
6.Assists with back office duties as needed within the practice.
