Vehicle Maintenance Manager assists with the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Assigns vehicles and drivers, prepares schedules, and oversees dispatch operations. Being a Vehicle Maintenance Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Vehicle Maintenance Manager develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. May administer insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participate in claim resolution. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Vehicle Maintenance Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Vehicle Maintenance Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Housing: Limited employee housing is available upon request. Employee housing is “dorm-style” and starts at $450/month. A list of local rental resources is available upon request.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Prepares and cleans up work areas.
    • Performs oil changes, tire pressure checks, recharge batteries
    • Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
    • Maintains daily maintenance logs and completion of work orders.
    • Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
    • Assists with fleet preventative maintenance program as established by Vehicle Maintenance Manager to include engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters, etc.
    • Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area.
    • Removes and replaces worn or defective parts.
    • Operates / drives vehicles and equipment to test operation following repair.
    • Repairs broken parts.
    • Sets up and operates metalworking tools such as lathe, drill press, or grinder, to make or repair parts.
    • Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
    • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
    • Utilizes radios to communicate with operations employees.
    • Maintains a high level of respect for resort property, including tools, spaces, vehicles, resources, and facilities.
    • Work with a sense of urgency and complete tasks in a timely manner.
    • Drive resort vehicles.
    • Complete all tasks as regulated by State and Federal environmental standards and OSHA regulations.
    • Tracks and properly stores all tools, supplies, and equipment used for the job.
    • Above all else is always looking for ways to assist.
