Position Overview
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining the facilities and equipment to perform to specifications through the coordination and supervision of maintenance activities.

The Role

• Supervises and directs the workflow of maintenance staff; ensuring work is performed safely through a visible presence and daily interactions with maintenance workers, machinists, and mechanics   
• Ensures employees have necessary equipment, PPE, tools, and training to perform tasks safely  
• Continuous focus on preventive maintenance optimization and improved predictive maintenance activities to achieve maximum possible uptime at the lowest possible cost  
• Acts as the chief troubleshooter on equipment and production machinery   
• Oversees all work activities pertaining to plumbing, electrical, roofing, and other carpentry projects  
• Oversees general repairs to buildings, including but not limited to painting, patching walls, and replacing lamps and ballasts  
• Oversees the setup, arranging, and removal of supplies needed to prepare facilities for events  
• Performs quality assurance reviews of work completed by assigned employees  
• Promotes collaborative interactions between maintenance, production, and office staff through the analyzing of problems and coordination of work orders with other departments as appropriate  
• Ensures company, site and department goals are met  
• Maintains complete and accurate knowledge of contractual obligations with the Union and conducts maintenance operations with proper regard for Union relations and their impact on business  
• Resolves personnel problems by investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action  
• This role requires regular presence on the plant floor and may require occasional work in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow  
• Is available on call for all emergencies  
• Performs other related duties as required

The Experience Needed

• 5 years maintenance experience 
• Extensive knowledge of building maintenance principles, practices, and codes, as well as equipment, tools, supplies, and materials used in the construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings 
• Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, etc.
• Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment 
• Knowledge of risk control and safety issues and practices  
• Demonstrated broad knowledge of production planning processes and strategic planning skills  
• Independently motivated, with the ability to take on tasks and duties without immediate direction  
• Ability to maintain daily workflow and deal with complex issues   
• Ability to read and completely understand the current Collective Bargaining Agreements 
• Intermediate level of experience with productivity tools, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook   
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills  
• Collaborative mindset and work style  
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• OSHA 10 certification
• Travel 10%

The Preferred Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, facility management, or a similar field; or four years in a skilled trade, Journeyman certification is preferred.
• NetSuite and/or UKG experience preferred  
• AutoCAD experience
