Student Worker - Bus and Passenger Vehicle Cleaner

Hourly Rate: $14.00

Student employment positions are part-time,19 hour-or-less per week, temporary/seasonal appointments. Some positions may require federal work study. The work schedule is dependent upon departmental needs and employee's availability, typically work hours are between 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday thru Friday. The student employee may receive direction from other Public Safety staff.

Essential Job Functions:

• Clean and detail the interior and exterior of the Parkland College Bus Fleet.
  
  • Wash exterior.
  • Sweep and mop interior of vehicles.
    
  • Clean and treat interior or vehicles.
    
  • Clean windows and mirrors of vehicles.
    
  • Empty trash cans in vehicles.
    
  • Use cleaning tools and supplies properly.
    
  • Keep inventory of tools and cleaning supplies, notify supervisor of needed repairs and when cleaning supplies are low.
    
  • Assist in vehicle maintenance issues, if possible.
    
• Create and maintain documents using Microsoft Office applications. Learn other computer programs to assist with data entering.
  
• Assist with completing forms in accordance with department procedures.
  
• Operate office equipment, such as copiers, PCs, and/or phone systems.
  
• Work independently and efficiently.
  
• May assist with special projects, and events.
  
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Meet all eligibility requirements for student employment as determined by Financial Aid. Some positions may require Federal Work Study.
  
• Ability to complete all cleaning and detailing tasks, as stated in the essential job functions.
  
• Ability to learn how to operate standard office equipment and computer systems.
  
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
  
• Ability to work inclusively in a diverse setting.
  
• Maintain confidentiality, be punctual, communicate changes in work schedule in advance.
  
• Appropriate attire as discussed for the work environment.
  
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Access, Excel, Word) is preferred.
  
• Valid Driver’s License, is preferred
