Overview
We’re looking for a Bereavement Coordinator - Volunteer Coordinator to join our team.
You will report directly to the Executive Director or Administrator. You’ll be responsible for identifying the bereavement needs and providing the highest quality service to meet those needs.
You’ll be providing bereavement needs to families, staff and volunteers
You’ll be gathering information to develop the family bereavement service needs
You’ll maximize family access to resources including volunteers, groups, and referrals
You’ll be supervising all volunteer activity in the local area of service
You’ll be recruiting, training and retaining volunteers
About You
Undergraduate degree in human service field required*.
Graduate degree preferred if providing counseling.
Clinical experience in the areas of life-threatening and chronic illness, grief and loss counseling, individual, family and group therapy
*In the event the candidate has an undergraduate degree in a field other than human services, equivalent experience and training in grief and loss counseling may be considered to meet this qualification.
Clinical experience in the areas of life-threatening and chronic illness, grief and loss counseling, individual, family and group therapy. One year required; three years preferred related clinical experience in varied multi-disciplinary settings and one year experience in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge of terminally ill patients and their families along with understanding of hospice and the psychosocial dynamics of illness, loss, and death
