Volunteer Coordinator supervises and leads the daily undertakings of a volunteer program to attract, inspire, train, and deploy volunteers. Leads the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of volunteer workers. Being a Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for training and educating volunteers. Motivates and inspires volunteers to encourage teamwork. Additionally, Volunteer Coordinator evaluates and reviews volunteer schedules and makes adjustments as necessary. Ensures that the activities of the volunteer workers meet the needs of the organization. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Volunteer Coordinator supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. As our Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll be at the helm of our volunteer squad, ensuring they’re equipped with the skills and enthusiasm to deliver top-notch service to airport customers. Your days will be filled with excitement as you:
· Keep our volunteers shining bright by providing training, support, and feedback to ensure they’re delivering nothing short of stellar service.
· Work hand-in hand with Program Management to orchestrate all aspects of our volunteer program, from recruitment to recognition.
· Show our volunteers some well-deserved love and appreciation.
You’ll also have the chance to roll up your sleeves and dive into action by assisting passengers with extra support, guiding stranded travelers, and providing essential administrative support to keep our program running smoothly.
What we’re looking for:
· An individual with exceptional communication skills who can inspire and motivate others with infectious energy and build positive relationships with Volunteers and airport personnel.
· A compassionate, caring manner and a knack for problem solving.
· Organizational wizards who can juggle multiple tasks with ease while maintaining a smile.

Location: 100% on-site at John F. Kennedy International Airport
Shift Times: 10:00am-6:00pm – Holiday and some weekend coverage needed
Pay Range: Min: $40,000 Max: $44,000

Position Specifications Required:
· HS Diploma
· Fluent in written and spoken English
· Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy airport environment
· Strong computer and data entry skills
· Work hours can vary due to needs of airport customers and/or volunteer support
· The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
· Regularly required to stand, walk, and carry materials
