Steel Fabrication Area Manager Position:
The Steel Fabrication Area Manager will oversee all Fabrication Supervisors, including production and quality of work. The ideal applicant will have leadership experience in steel fabrication.
Steel Fabrication Area Manager Duties and Responsibilities
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overseeing all Fabrication supervisors
- Managing time and attendance for all employees in that area
- Ensure all disciplinary procedures are followed and proper documentation is turned in
- Looking ahead at upcoming jobs to determine if there are special instructions included
- Ensure all hours are entered correctly into GPUtility and track hours to assure production hours are met
- Meeting with supervisors to go over upcoming jobs
- Ensure 5s is being implemented
- Coordinate with detailing/programming on potential issues that arise and communicate to supers
- Meeting with supervisors in regards to weekly goals
- Meeting with production manager and lean area manager to assure efficient operations
- Conduct training with supervisors in leadership
- Coordinate with other area managers to discuss flow between departments
- Give weekly report to executive team on schedule accomplishment
- Coordinate with hr on hiring of team members
- Ensure training for new employees is taking place and training standards are met
- Plan and participate in kaizen events with lean area manager
- Attend training on high level supervision with production manager
- Attend strategic goals meetings with production manager and lean area manager
- Managing inventory budgets
- Leadership experience in Steel Fabrication
- Ability to lead planned meetings and organizes teams accordingly
- Must have high organizational skills (paperwork, shifts, balancing team loads, etc)
- Experience in communication with small and large groups
- Must be willing to learn and read new strategies for growth and organization
- Handle multiple tasks at the same time
- Humble, hungry, smart
- Training in conflict resolution
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated with minimum oversight in operations
