Position: Web Designer - 2026889
Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73111
Duration: 6 month contract to start
Pay Rate Range: $39-48/hr

Job Summary
Seeking an experienced web design professionalwith a reviewable, online portfolio illustrating their deep understanding of useable webpage design to create the look, layout, and features of the websites. This job involves understanding both graphic design and computer programming. This position will work closely with the development and media relations/marketing teams.
As an IT Team Member, each person must have flexibility in the duties they perform. Tasks may include operational responsibilities not directly related to initiatives but will be within the professional's core skill set.
Principle Responsibilities: (Essential Function)

• Must have an appreciation for usability in the user experience while on a website.
• Should show a strong drive to be creative while respecting the needs of the project's stakeholders.
• Must be able to overcome the various technical constraints and usability implications of website design for multiple device types (PC's, tablets, laptops, E-readers, and mobile phones). Additionally, must be able to explain these technical constraints/implications to non-technical business stakeholders using everyday terms, such that the stakeholders can decide on a course of action/strategy for the candidate to use to overcome them.
• Should be capable of producing wireframes or mockup documents of their design work for early review and approval by stakeholders, and accept feedback and marked up copies of these documents in return for further design work/refinement.
• Have a deep familiarity with software development tools needed for all illustrations, artwork, and photography alteration/editing used as graphical content on the sites.
• Have knowledge of using SFTP to publish a website, via access to the network (so that interstitial website artifacts can be uploaded and served via an internal webserver for review by stakeholders)

Job Skills:

• Candidate must be able to produce the layout, navigation, and static content for websites using only pure HTML, CSS, and minimal JavaScript
• Successful candidates should have experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
• Strong skill in traditional graphical design and illustration work is also a plus.
• Superior communications and professional speaking skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and tasks
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Previous Experience:

• Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3 years experience working specifically in a web and graphic design role
