Wellness Program Manager designs and implements wellness and work-life programs and policies to build a positive and appealing company culture that will enhance employee engagement, facilitate recruiting, and support productivity improvements. Partners with insurers, healthcare providers, and vendors to introduce wellbeing awareness with on-site health events, classes, assessments/screenings, and information resources. Being a Wellness Program Manager develops and implements work-life programs to provide employees with flexible work arrangements, financial planning, family/child care resources, transportation, memberships, discounts, and educational opportunities. Collects and analyzes information about employment trends and employee workplace needs by conducting surveys or feedback sessions.     Duties

    This position is located under the Office of Human Resources and Professional Development Workforce Wellness and Services Division in Washington, DC.

    The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the principal Bureau change agent and focal point for planned organizational improvements, by fostering a collaborative team approach to achieve consistency in human resources, work life balance and wellness, training and development for the Bureau.

    As a Program Manager, GS-0340-15, your typical work assignments may include:

    Advises Management on matters pertaining to workforce wellness, resources, education and tools.
    Exercise full supervisory and managerial responsibilities and authority over Division personnel.
    Responsible for assessing, developing, and evaluating program goals, needs, operations, and accomplishments. Conducts short- and long-range planning for overall Division goals and objectives.
    Assess, develop, and evaluate programs, needs, operations and accomplishments.
    Represent the Bureau in inter-agency meetings, conferences and ad-hoc committees with policy officials.

    This is a non-bargaining unit position.

    MOBILITY PLAN: New employees hired pursuant to this vacancy announcement must sign a mobility agreement.     Qualifications

    GS-15 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties:

    Developing or advising on wellness and resiliency programs such as Peer Response, Employee Assistance Program, Employee Wellness, Telework, Workers Compensation, Drug-Free Workplace and Health Improvement, AND
    Managing funding levels; AND
    Assessing, developing and evaluating programs goals, needs, operations and accomplishments.

    Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

    The Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP) provides eligible surplus and displaced competitive service employees in the Department of Justice with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
